Individual Reflections

Aye, aye! How's it going? It's been a while. I hope you're all doing good. Ever wonder where have I been these days? No? Oh well, let's just say I was in the middle of war.. with my laziness, so I could get a good grade. Hopefully. Oh well, I tried. Best of luck for me. I hope I'm good enough. This is probably my last blog report. Ey, don't go all teary and crying just yet! Doesn't mean I'll go commit un-alive after this, dang. Well, for this class, if I pass it. For this last one, I'm actually going to tell you about my "journey" in learning.. stuff, like reading and listening as usual, like in my earlier posts. But this time, maybe I'll just go for some rants, or just blabbering all of my thoughts about stuffs in class, or maybe just straight up my progress in listening and reading, as I am supposed to. Oh well, this is my journey to become a better learner. (Source : Hey Admin, Sauce Please ) lmao crying penguin Where to start, hmm.....

An Interview with Ivanhoe and Rebecca

Image
Aye, aye! We meet again! How's life? Sad? Yeah, me too. Oh well, anyway, I got yet another project with my partner, and it requires us to do an interview. Well, two interviews, actually. And of course, we had to choose a story, and boy oh boy it was long. Then we choose one character for each interview and pretend to be interviewed, or as the interviewer. Confused? Me too, my child. Me too. So, what's the story? Well, it's a fairytale called "Ivanhoe" written by Walter Scott. It is said to be B1 Pre-Intermediate level story with 14758 words in total. Pretty long, eh? Well, lemme give you a brief summary, just to make sure that you'll have the idea about this story. It tells us about things that happened after The Third Crusade ended. There will by stories about knights, kings, and some ladies. To be honest, the story feels like it scatters around, no disrespect to the author, but I hope it wouldn't get weird cut and transitioning between one scene to anot...

Sketch It!

Image
Aye, aye! Hello, there! We meet again. Today's assignment is.. rather challenging for me. Yep, like the title said, I'm going to try to attempt on making a sketch about this one particular scene in a story I've read, though my drawing skill is just.. beyond abomination. And sad. Oh well, let's check it out, shall we? For today's reading material, I've read a story titled The Children of The New Forest, written by Captain Marryat. It's a B1 Pre-Intermediate level story, and it consists 6403 words, to be exact. The story tells us about four children that lost their father, Colonel Beverley, to death. They managed to escape and ran away all the way to New Forest. There, they lived with their father's old friend, Jacob, and started their new life as Jacob's grandchildren. They have to forget their noble life and learn to run the household. Interested? You can check them here . Now, I'm going to show you my sketch. Promise me you will laugh at it. La...

The Perfect Song 2.0

Image
Aye , aye ! We meet again! Hello! Well, I guess you already know what this post is about based on the title, yes? Haha, yeah, we got yet another assignment. Well, this time we got a chance to choose which type of the report I want to make, and either it is a text material or listening material. To be honest, I like to link stories with songs, or something like that. Yeah, everytime I attempt to write stories, songs are my main source of inspiration, or vice versa. Haha, yeah, I've been writing my stories, just random stories, though. Nothing's suspicious. Hehe. Well, anyway, let's get into the topic, shall we? For today's report, it's about the story of Hercules. Well, I chose the YouTube clip one. It's a 7:50 minutes long video made by TED-Ed, titled The myth of Hercules : 12 labors in 8-bits - Alex Gendler. The story tells us about Hercules, who commits a serious crime. In order to gain the Gods' forgiveness, he has to finish 12 tasks from his cousin, King...

The Perfect Song

Image
Aye, aye! We meet again. Hi, how are you? Hope you're doing fine. If not, I'm sorry. Well, let's just start now, alright? Ever heard of a song? Yep, yep! We're gonna talk about it today! Of course, as usual, I'll go for two characters from different stories. Music is kind of part of my life. I love writing, and music helps me almost every time! I'm kinda excited for this one. Alright, for the first one is listening material. It's a Dreamworks 2D animated movie called Sinbad : Legend of the Seven Seas, written by John Logan. So, what is the movie about? Well, the pirate, Sinbad, is framed by the Goddess of Chaos, Eris, for the theft of the Book of Peace. He must travel through the seas to the end of the world to retrieve the Book of Peace in order to save his childhood friend. It's about 1 hour and 26 minutes long, so it's not really that long, I guess? But I can assure you, it's worth to watch! Interested? You can check it here . (Source :  https...

Bookmarks With Quotations

Image
Aye, aye! We meet again! How's life? Well, mine is good, kinda. Today, eh, I mean, two days ago, I got yet another project. It says that I have to make a bookmark for each listening and reading material I have read/watch. After 2 hours of finding some inspiration for this project and another 3 hours of making the project (including snacking, slacking off, and having an existential crisis), I finally finished. Dang, that's a long time. Anyway, let's see what we got today, shall we? Alright, the first one is a reading material, a story. It's called "The Silver Swans" by Gallico Paul. It consists 3522 words. No, the site does not show what level this reading material is, but oh well. Reading material is reading material. Well, the story is about Horatio Fundoby, an old man that meets a young lady named Thesis at a houseboat. Apparently, she is desperate of finding her true love, and the old man is there to help. Also, she sings a song titled, well, you've gu...

Let Me Write A Poem About You

Image
Aye! Aye!  Hello, there! Miss me? Haha. We meet again! Welcome, to the hive of this drunken little human. Today I've learned some stuffs like an acrostic poem. And yes, again, I'm going to pick two stories and from each stories, I;m going to pick one character, and make an acrostic poem about them. This time, there's no instruction to choose whether it's a character I love or a character that I genuinely hate. Yeah boy, it's time to rant. Finally. Alright, for the first one, we have a French television series, Miraculous : Tales of Ladybug & Chat Noir, or we can also call it Miraculous Ladybug, written by Thomas Astruc. But Arinda, isn't this an English related course? Now, now! Don't freak out yet. Yes, the series took place at Paris, French with Parisian teenagers as the characters. Well, they're English dubbed, duh! It counts, right? Anyway, the series tell us about the story about two Parisian teenagers, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste,...
